Anaïs Nin (February 21, 1903—January 14, 1977) was a celebrated author and diarist who documented her personal emotional journey in a daily diary that she began at the age of eleven and kept throughout her life. “Anaïs Nin’s Influence” presented 4 of the female writers/artists she mentored and befriended. Silver Lake Library sponsored this launch event for the book, "Trapeze: The Unexpurgated Diary of Anaïs Nin, 1947-1955” “Trapeze" fully documents the time when Nin's life became divided between two men, one in New York and another in California. Beginning with an apartment in Hollywood, then a forest ranger house in Sierra Madre, Nin and Rupert Pole eventually built a home in Silver Lake, which is where she lived from 1962 to 1977.
